Farm Markets and Produce Stands

Longer days and warmer temperatures are sure signs of summer. It also means our farm markets and roadside stands will be stocked with nature's bounty. When it's time to shop for your fruits and vegetables, think about stopping at a local farm market, roadside stand, or pick-your-own farm. You'll get great tasting produce, help support our farming community, and the kids will have fun too. The fruit and produce you can buy at these locations is among the freshest and most flavorful you will find anywhere. The wide selection of seasonal homegrown treats available in Salem County will keep you coming back for more.  It's fun and tasty, too, as Philadelphia restauranteur and author Steve Poses attests in his recent blog, The Farm Stands of Salem County

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture provides information on farms and farm market locations in Salem County, what’s in season, Jersey Fresh recipes, and a listing of agriculture related family events.

During the summer months the Salem Farmers Market  showcases the best local fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, and more in downtown Salem along West Broadway, between Market St. and Plaza Drive.

When the seasons begin to change and the holidays approach, a different type of escapade awaits you. Kids of all ages will find a challenging outdoor adventure solving the riddle of our six-acre corn maze. This family-friendly activity inspires creativity and teamwork, and is a lot of fun. So test you skills and see if you can make it through without getting lost! When you are finished enjoy the beauty of the season and breathe the fresh air on an old-fashioned country hayride through farms, fields, and forests, make sure you pick up your pumpkin on the trip.

Venturing out into the countryside to harvest a Christmas tree is a fun, memory-making holiday experience. Visit one of our Christmas tree farms and enjoy the hunt, the family camaraderie, and the wonderful aroma of the trees.
